if the wind is pushing a boat to the east and the boats motor is pushing the boat to the north, which direction will the boat move

If the wins makes it to east, then the motor goes north Then it would go North-East

The boat will move in a direction that's somewhere between North and East.  The exact direction will depend on how the speed of the wind compares to the speed of the boat through the water.
