Explanation:

Hawaii islands are formed due to a hot spot in the region. A hot spot is a point where the very hot magma – called mantle plume-  from the bottom hotter layers of the mantle rises upwards in between two convection current loops churning in opposite directions. The hot spot itself is fixed but because the crust above is moving, then magma pierces the crust and erupts forming a chain of islands as the crust moves above the hot spot.
