Let’s first expand out before factorising completely.

(2a + 2b) (2a + 2b) =

4a^2 + 8ab + 4b^2

Add to 4b^2 - a^2

4a^2 + 8ab + 8b^2 - a^2

= 3a^2 + 8ab + 8b^2
=8b (a + b) + 3a^2
=8b (a + b + 3a^2/8b)
=8b (b+ a(1+3a/8b))

This might be wrong lol.
