Jean-Baptiste-Donatien de Vimeur, comte de Rochambeau was the commander of all French forces during the war of independence in America. The greatest contribution that Rochambeau gave during the Yorktown campaign, where, together with George Washington, forced a large British army led by Charles Cornwallis to surrender. In particular, he helped defeat the British, bringing in French troops.
