  • add g to the other side on the 2nd equation. you should get f=7+g
  • now replace the f in the top equation with 7+g. the equation should now look like 7+g +3g = 15
  • combine like terms to get 7+4g=15
  • subtract 7 from both sides to get 4g=8
  • divide by four to get g=2
  • now plug 2 in for g in the 2nd equation to get f-2=7
  • add 2 to both sides and get f=5
