Base from the graph the number of degrees of longitude that separate new York and reno Nevada is 120 – 75 = 45 degrees of longitude. The time difference can be calculated by dividing it by 15 degree because for every 15 degrees there is 1 hr difference. 45 / 15 = 3 hr difference
