Mary's age is 2/3 that of Peter's. Two years ago Mary's age was 1/2 of what Peter's age will be in 5 years' time. how old is Peter now?

and Peter's age be y

First equation x=2/3y 
Second equation (x-2)=1/2(y+5)  If peters age 5 years time from his current age 

Solving the equation u get Peters age as 23 years old
