The rule for multiplying similar bases with exponents is:

(a^b)*(a^c)=a^(b+c)

In this case you have:

(x^9)(x^2)

x^(9+2)

x^11
When we multiple exponential numbers we add the exponents so we get:
[tex] x^{9+2} = x^{11} [/tex]
