I'm pretty sure this is the line: "Our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure". I hope this helps!

It is the line beginning..." Our Fathers brought  forth on this continent, a new nation conceived in liberty...."

The President here wanted to focus on all the sacrifices the fathers of the Nation made in order to make it what it was to that day.War seemed unnatural from that point of view and Lincoln wanted to show it usin the history of the American Independence.
