how is telomerase activity different from DNA polymerase activity during DNA elongation?

During DNA elongation, the polymerase enzyme add free nucleotide to the three prime end of the newly forming strand making it to grow in the five prime three prime direction while the telomerase adds complementary RNA base to the three prime end of the DNA strand.
