The citizens under the kings rule who weren't wealthy, were starving. Many were dying of starvation. Even though the king and his queen were dining everynight with delicious foods. At that time bread was a major source of food. The king continusly spent money on things very expensive putting the country into debt. Many people were mad at how the king was eating but not his subjects. No one could even afford the raised price on bread. So they then resulted into the French revolution.
