Hey there!
We'll use our formula for slope given two points, m = y2-y1/x2-x1
Therefore, we have:
1/4 = -1-y/10-6
1/4 = 1-y/4
Multiply both sides by 4
1 = 1-y
Add 1 to both sides
2 = -y
Multiply both sides by -1
-2 = y
Let's plug it back in to see if it works:
-1-(-2)/10-6 =
-1 + 2 / 4
1/4
Therefore, -2 is y.
Hope this helps!
