Let one number be x

one number = x
the other number = x - 16

Sum of the two number is 120
x + x - 16 = 120
2x - 16 = 120
2x = 120 + 16
2x = 136
x = 136 ÷ 2
x = 68

x = 68
x - 16 = 68 - 16 = 52

One number is 68 and the other is 52
